Where ultramodern meets old school: The stunning symbiosis of Fenix nanotech matte doors and natural oak

Aunman’s technology specialists and designers have produced a new take on Fenix nanotech matte furniture boards, which have been gaining in popularity for more than seven years now, by combining them with natural oak – giving kitchen, bathroom and entryway furniture a modern but timeless appearance imbued with elegance.

When the Italian company Arpa Industriale introduced the world to Fenix in 2013, the material instantly became famous around the globe. It very cleverly brought two trends in furniture production together: matte surfaces and smart technology. With the help of nanotechnology, the surface of the material has not merely been rendered matte, but super-matte, with a silky, even velvet-like feel to it. The same effect is achieved no matter what the colour of the material (of which the manufacturer offers 20) and regardless of whether the surface is horizontal or vertical.

But its unique and luxurious appearance is not all that Fenix has to offer: since it reflects so little light, it is quite literally easy on the eye. At the same time, it is UV-resistant, which means there is no need to use curtains to shield it from sunlight.

Special electron rays are used to harden its next-generation acrylic resins. Thanks to this, Fenix nanotech matte boards fend off fingerprints far more effectively than other surface finishes. This is particularly noticeable on boards in darker tones, where such marks would otherwise stand out. As such, this is great news for families with small children! Since the outer surface of Fenix is non-porous, it will remain in great condition for years with regular care.

Aunman has given popular Fenix nanotech matte boards a new twist.

The material feels soft and warm to the touch but offers greater scratch resistance. True, there are limits to just how scratch-resistant a surface can be: unlike on a granite worktop, for example, you should avoid chopping onions on it. However, if a scratch forms, you can simply iron it out using an ordinary household iron. Clean the surface, place some white kitchen paper over the scratch and then carefully iron it until the scratch disappears.

Fenix has now developed its base technology to the point that it has significantly reduced the phenol content of its Fenix Bloom solution by using lignin, one of the constituents of wood. It is thought that this natural polymer could largely replace petroleum in the chemical industry of the future.

Fenix combined with natural oak

Fenix has offered designers a great deal of inspiration. Aunman’s furniture designers and technology specialists have developed a variant that combines Fenix nanotech matte doors with natural oak. This is a great solution for those who would like some wood in their kitchen without all of the furniture being made from it. Two unique door types are currently available: one with bevelled veneer handles and the other without. The oak can also be combined with all of the colours in the Fenix range, of which there are more than 10. Blending ultramodern Fenix nanotech with natural oak produces a modern finish that will look good for years.

Just like all the other kitchen, bathroom and entryway furniture produced under the Aunman brand, pieces made using Fenix nanotechnology are 100% waterproof: Aunman uses innovative PUR technology to edge-band the furniture’s frames and doors, not only ensuring that moisture will not damage it, but also making its edges and joins aesthetically pleasing.

This is a new classic you need to see with your own eyes!
